Val, Seth, and I got to be extras for two days on the set of PAUL. We weren't allowed to take any video or pictures of the set, but we shot some video in the Extras Holding Room, and talked a bit about it without going into much detail about the scenes.

We would have gotten video of the guys, but when we did see them when they weren't on set, they were just so cool and candid. We didn't want to ruin the moments by pulling out a camera.

Here are the videos.

Wow... It looks like you had more fun at the fake Comic-Con than I did at the real one! XD

In the Joe clip, whoever that guy is in the headset has the Stark Expo '74 shirt. Which means either he was at the real ComicCon, or someone brought it back for him. :P

Yeah. It was an awesome experience. It was work, but it was definitely worthwhile.

I told Nick that I didn't really understand how fucking hard what they do is until now. I mean, I knew it wasn't a walk in the park, but I didn't fully appreciate what they go through when filming. It was grueling. Like 15-18 hour days, most of it standing around and waiting. Then all the repetition. And you never know when it's going to be over. I think that would be the worst part for me if I was an actor. Just, never knowing what time you'll be done for the day. Not know when you're going to get a shower, or go to bed, or get to the bar.

I mentioned a few times that I felt like a Sim. You know, that game, The Sim's. It's like your fun level goes in the red, or your bladder and hunger level is going down, and you get frustrated because you want to go do something else, or go to the restroom or eat, but they make you keep walking and standing. The Director and Assistant Directors are in complete control of you.

And we didn't even have any lines to say. I can't even imagine having to play a main character. It would be so hard for me to hide my frustration when it gets up to like the 10th take or something. And it would be horrible to have to be in make-up all day, and not be able to wipe your face, or adjust your clothing or anything.

So when you hear like, for example, Simon on the commentary of Shaun, talking about how tired he was this day or that day, that's no joke. Like so much more work than you would imagine.

I'm not complaining. At all. It really was a lot of fun, and very interesting. I was just blown away by how difficult their jobs are.

Well I won't argue that it was a no-holds-barred adrenaline-fuelled thrill-ride, but there's no way you could perpetrate that amount of carnage & mayhem & not incur a considerable amount of paperwork.

Nick gives awesome hugs, but I have to say, I hugged Simon for the first time as we were checking out of the hotel, and it was nice too. It's weird. All the times I've seen Simon, and I never hugged him. I was just so happy to see him because everything else that morning had been a bit shite, and he sort of brightened it up just by being there.

This is a vid of us after leaving the set the last day.

And the morning we left.

Aw! That makes me squee!
And I look forward to the day when I get to experience a Simon hug too. :D

Gahhh . . crappy laptop at work is giving me problems hearing the vids clearly - I'll have to re-watch em at home.

Ahhh so you guys got to experience the rigors of film extra work  . . sometimes the hardest part is also just waiting around before you're called on set to (walk, sit, stand . .etc) . . and also when there are tons of extras . . sitting around hoping you'll get selected to go on set - cause sometimes that is even a given that you will.

Glad to hear you had fun . .and thanks for sharing the vids! (Can't wait to see em - and hear em at home tonight!)

Also glad to hear you got hugs from the guys and met Minnie - "in the fur" . .

(Gen - Simon hugs are awesome . . I hope I can meet Nick one day to shyly ask for a squeeze:) . .

Hee . . and also you got the "how did you know him" when Nick came up to talk to you. AWESOME! I got that on HTLFAAP when Simon kept coming by to chat. . . it is a nice sort of feeling, isn 't it . . and even then for me, it was the first time I had met him. Makes ya feel special.

Tim: I know, I’d look like a twat in a jumpsuit.
Daisy: Don’t say that, Tim. That’s a word that hates women.
Tim: What, twat?
Daisy: No, jumpsuit.

Yeah, "in the furry flesh". :lol2: I hope to have the honour of shaking her paw one day.

Kim, my friend, I never doubted for a second that Simon's hugs are awesome. Just having him put his arm around my shoulders when I met him, was absolutely magical (so was having my arm around his waist).
Nick gives lovely hugs. And while he hugged me, he said "I'll never get tired of this". So that's something for you to look forward to. :D

I love the way the boys do that. They're such generous sweethearts.

When we ran into Simon at the hotel, before we left he gave us all hugs, but I was carrying a big round plastic bag full of clothes, and couldn't wrap my arms around him. I had to lean in on my side and sort of rest my head on him as he wrapped his arms around. It was a bit of an awkward position. So, I didn't get a proper hug, but what I did good was still awesome. And Nick does give good hugs. I think I got like three hugs from him. Maybe two. :P

Daaww! That's cute! :D
Personally, next time I meet Simon, I'll happily drop (well, ok, put down gently) ANYTHING I'm holding for a full hug!

hehehee! Yeah, I got two as well, at The Boat That Rocked premiere. Although the first one was for Geoi, but I asked for a second quick one for me just before we left.

Feel the love (& hugs).
